There's now more magic in Apple's Magic Keyboard — a new version of the slim, wireless accessory now includes a 10-key numeric keypad. It's very, very similar to the current Magic Keyboard, now a couple years old, but it makes the process of typing numbers into your computer a breeze. The Microsoft Bluetooth Keyboard is very different than the Apple Magic Keyboard. The Microsoft's full-size design includes a NumPad and you can set a few macros on the F4-F7 keys. On the other hand, the Apple Magic Keyboard is noticeably better built and its scissor switches offer a better overall typing experience. I recently bought a new Magic keyboard with numeric pad but cannot get it to work properly on bootcamp.

I reinstalled the drivers, updated osx, pair and unpaired the keyboard, and called technical support, but none seemed to have helped.

The magic keyboard without a numeric pad works well but when I unpaired it, the tab on bootcamp control panel for keyboards disappeared, so I'm assuming the error has something to do with bootcamp not registering the device as an apple keyboard.

Apple's accessories tend to be of the same caliber as their computers and smartphones. The Apple Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad recently entered the market, but is it worth the upgrade?

The most perceptible change with this incarnation of the keyboard is the addition of its keys on the right, formerly seen on Apple's old wired keypads. A row of numerical keys still resides near the top for those accosted to them, but the addition of the ten on the right will behoove those in particular lines of work, such as accountants and programers.

Apple boasts how the additional batch of keys enhances scrolling speeds while also providing 'full-size arrow keys for gaming.' Compatible apps, such as Final Cut and various financial software, also make use of the secondary numerical buttons.

Consequentially, the keyboard is 5.5 inches longer than its predecessor. (The dimensions are otherwise identical, however.) Much like prior models, there's an elegance to the clean design. However, CNET's reviewer noted how its flatness can incur pain in the wrists if used for extended periods of time.

Furthermore, there are now 19 buttons that can access shortcuts, rather than the previous record of 12. The keyboard, however, isn't backlit as some of its competitors are. While this wasn't a necessity, it would've been a nice bonus.
